No rly Berry is super appreciative of Bubbles right now. Especially after confessing the whole SO MY FIRST GAME TRAUMATIZED ME . . . thing. She'd been pretty worried that Bubbles would look down at her for it or accuse her of things, but that. Didn't happen at all. Support happened?? She was super grateful, and it just increased her willingness and desire to always be there for Bubbles.

I think that is the only real update for now.

But, honestly, it doesn't scare or worry her too much—she thinks Iris is a good team who will be there to support Rena, and she knows they'd stop any teammate who tried to go too far.

Her immediate reaction is 'Oh. Right. I shouldn't trust anyone because eventually everyone betrays me.'

This is probably accompanied by her walking stoically back to Teal, shutting the door, leaning against the wall and sliding down it while tears start streaming down her face because she Really Liked Them and now it's just her and she doesn't know what the fuck to do by herself and why did you people all leave me like this?!

Crying continues for about an hour as she sits there and stares at a wall. Then she picks herself up and walks into the freaking waterfall to snap herself out of it. Once done she'd take inventory of everything inside of Teal, and organize all of it. Everything. The building would be spotless. During this entire time she wouldn't bother leaving, though she might let others visit, depending. Must stay busybusybusy.

THEN she would... basically just try to keep to the strategy that Coco and Tiramisu created as best she could, and try to just remain friendly with everyone there while welcoming the newbies and keeping to her friends. Except she wouldn't actually 'befriend' the new teals, she'd just treat them like she does everyone else. Safely, keeping them at arm's length and not actually trusting them so that even if they do get vanished it won't be so bad since she can just abstract it. Basically, she'd resolve to never show her real self to anyone ever again.

AOKO IS STILL A LITTLE '-' . . . over how their little. Argument. Went. Because she is so tired of feeling like a useless burden, and she doesn't . . . quite know how to communicate . . . 'um hey Kaito I think I might kill to keep you alive and safe, but while I would do stupid things to protect you I also have no plans to die again because it sucked and traumatized you for life.' It's kind of a constant little war between must do things and be proactive to keep herself afloat, protectiveness, and trying to be mindful of, well. Him.

But mostly she just has a whole lot of dere for all of him. Sure, she's tsundere towards Kid, but even as a kind of antagonistic force he's been part of her life for so long that she could never just deny him. She wants to see if she can bully him out to talk to him more. \'-'/ COME ON, KID. Let me harass youuuuuu I promise I'll be gentle with my mop. The whole thing with Shinichi is . . . still a thing, but she's accepted it as something she wouldn't change even if she could. Just. All the quiet acceptance and bullying Shinichi Like A Good Caring Friend. :B

JINX IS . . . She's noticed that he and Kaito have been a whole lot more fluid lately, which she thinks is a good sign! She still wants to help him and be there for him, and possibly scruff him if/when necessary. He's always been pretty kind to her, if also kind of . . . distant, too, so she's never worried that he'd hurt her or anything. After the argument, she's been a little more worried. Whups. AND KAITO IS JUST KAITO, she loves and appreciates and needs him in her life. (tbh the whole love thing extends to all three of them; they're all parts of the one, and she loves the one.) SHE ALSO . . . while her new determination and suchlike is genuine, she's also hoping that it'll help Kaito—so he doesn't have to hold her up like he did when she was pretty much completely depressed.

Waking up without him there was a bit of a blow to her, so there's a little more "oh god don't leave me alone again" that she's trying not to show. She is, however, kind of relieved that spending time out in the jungle with Kuroba and the others seems to have helped him. He's healthier, physically and sort of mentally, which is A++.

BASICALLY ALL THE KAITO-DERE and caring for him and wanting to protect him. Yep.

Coco on Kyou

Is . . . kind of complicated, in some ways. As a friend, he's hurt her more than pretty much anybody else. \:'D/ EVEN ARCHER WAS NOT AS MUCH AS AN ASS TO HER AS HE'S BEEN. She figures that he let Canary target Teal in the GM game, rather than one of the teams Canary is more neutral on, because he wants to push her away. That hurt! And then trying to friends break up with her was another blow. BUT.

Coco still loves Kyou. She will continue to care about Kyou no matter how many times Canary hurts Teal, though she's at the point now where she will snap back against him when he's an ass to her. Part of it is stubbornness, and part of it is because she sees a good person in him. His life has been shitty and he's terrified and angry, and she doesn't want him to have to be alone. She just . . . likes being around him, honestly. He's a good friend when he isn't being a really shitty one. '-' She wants to draw him out and do fun things with him, and even though there are a lot of things she can't understand about him . . . she wants to be there anyway. N-NOBODY SHOULD BE ALONE, BEING ALONE IS THE WORST, NAKAMORI AOKO KNOWS THESE THINGS and also friendship, suck it kitty.

Their most recent conversation made her kind of ._. for a lot of reasons. Just. Gonna quietly accept that Canary is always gonna bus Teal, refuse to let it come between them more than it already has, oh no Kyou is sad and traumatized what do how do I help it! She will probably try to visit soon, once Teal has got their newest new person settled.

SO BERRY how do you feel about the Kaitou Kid thing now :]

Gosh Berry has so. Many. Feelings.

SO MANY.

OKAY I will start this off by saying: Berry still likes Kid as a character. S-She likes enigmatic, flirty, charismatic trolls. She likes jerks with good hearts. She likes challenges. Kid is all of these things! I think if she could interact with Kid, whether it's Kaito being a dork or some game dickery, she would enjoy it.

It really helps that when she first started remembering Kid, it was all positive! \'-'/ She remembers cheering for him, and she remembers him doing things that seemed . . . important, to her. She'd always believed that Kid had to have a reason! . . . And then it turned out that Kaito was Kid, and that he did have a reason. A very, very important one. It doesn't mean that Berry necessarily believes that becoming a vigilante thief out to exact his own justice and revenge is a . . . mm, good or morally right thing. She knows that he's crossing moral lines and doing very selfish things! But she understands it, she thinks. She accepts it. PRETTY MUCH UNCONDITIONALLY.

The whole time she was nudging him to confess, she never quite grasped some of the implications. She knew that she'd technically be siding with her father's enemy, but the depth of just what she would have to do didn't really occur to her until later. AND THEN SHE WENT . . . Oh. She began to realize just how much her lying to her father and her friends would hurt him. She began to realize just how it would make her feel—a little like she was losing some part of herself. Another sacrifice for Kid's crusade. \'-'/

But, instead of tearing herself up about it, she decided to throw herself in head first! Because she believes in him. Because before she thinks of him as a thief, she thinks of him as Kaito. Kaito, who does so much alone, who takes so much responsibility onto his own shoulders and gets himself into so much trouble. 8(a She . . . also realizes that by trying to make him let her in, she's adding to his guilt complexes. But she just can't stand by anymore. She feels badly enough about how wilfully ignorant she was back home! A-All that time she could've been pounding on his skull until he spilled his secrets and maybe let his walls down a little 8(

She's also finally realized just how dangerous it is for her to know about Kid. If she chose to tell her father, she could ruin Kaito's life. If she told the wrong person, she could get him, and a lot of other people, killed. If his enemies found out that she knew, she could be used against him, or hurt, or murdered. The former two points aren't really a problem—she isn't going to tell anybody. The latter, she thinks, will only be a problem if she's too reckless, and Berry is fairly confident in herself. I-IT'S OKAY KAITO I TOTALLY GOT THIS I CAN DO THIS IT WILL BE WIN-WIN, I support you so you don't crash and burn and you support me. Except it isn't that easy, because Kaito hates getting people involved. She . . . honestly does not know what to do to convince or reassure him that this can work out. But she's going to keep trying. '^'

. . . Man I feel like I forgot to mention a lot of stuff. LIKE. She blames The Org more than anybody, though she does acknowledge that Kaito is responsible for his own choices. Kid isn't a path he would have chosen if it wasn't for them. But they happened, and he chose to become Kid, and here we are. It's for this reason, amongst a few others, that she can't really resent him at all. :Ua The other reason is that she is actually quietly grateful for Kid . . . in that, after her mother died, Kid gave her father an anchor. She's kind of sad that he had to go chasing after a thief instead of paying attention to her, but. Kid didn't make Ginzo throw everything away to chase him. He chose to do that. It's going to be kind of awful when she gets back the memory of KID DISAPPEARING, GINZO IS SAD FOREVER. Because that'll really cement the whole "o-oh is Kid more important than me . . ." thing.

How does Kaito feel about their latest thread, and Berry's stubborn commitment to supporting him despite it turning her into a liar? IS HE HAVING ANY REGRETS OR ANYTHING.

NO REGRETS NO. He could never really... regret Kid, or her finding out, or her being so accepting of him despite who he is? But he does feel incredibly selfish (WHICH HE IS) and kind of like a jerk for it because he knows she is being placed in a tough situation in which she is sacrificing not only her ideals but her family connections and stuff. And that doesn't sit right with him! It can't sit right with him, when from his perspective she is making all of these sacrifices for him and because he chose to break the law for the sake of his own desire for revenge and justice.

He's also terrified about her getting involved because he knows how dangerous these men can be :') They were the ones who murdered his father after all, and his father was THE BEST THERE EVER WAS. He doesn't want them to take Aoko away from him too! Her knowing not only causes her to sacrifice her ideals for him, but it also puts her in a position where... these men might find out she knows who Kid is, or might figure out she's involved with Kid, and might try to hurt her or use her against him and that is just the scariest thought \o/; He had it way back when she first found out, but he tried to push it from his mind, but this recent conversation really brought it back to the forefront and reminded him that OH GOD AOKO IS INVOLVED NOW GOOD JOB KUROBA WHAT IF SHE GETS KILLED. And that just... fills him with terror beyond anything else he feels he's ever felt before. It's something he doesn't know how to deal with. He knows she can take care of herself, but so could Toichi and he still died. He doesn't know how to be comfortable with her knowing and her stubborn insistence that she help him yet, so that's one thing he still needs to come to terms with, along with her sacrificing her ideals for him. PERHAPS IF SHE STRESSES THAT SHE TRUSTS AND BELIEVES IN HIM AND HIS CHOICES THAT WILL HELP 8(

Beyond all the bad feelings, he really is truly, 100% grateful for her support. It's really good for him to have someone who recognized the bad in what he does to keep him grounded, and yet supports him in his ultimate mission so he doesn't feel alone. He hasn't really gotten around to saying this to her yet, but. He appreciates her so very much and loves her deeply and is thankful for her presence in his life.

There isn't too much of an update, honestly! She is just really grateful to have Kira around, and trusts her to help look after their dumb boy. Sometimes feels a bit bad, since she knows that Kira has Feelings for Kaito . . . but. Yeah. ALSO RE: HER TRYING TO KILL KAITO, she mostly just doesn't think about it these days. She thinks Akako is a better person than she tried to pretend she was, and she know that Kira wants to be different.

KIRA LOVE BERRY

A LOT

Like Kira fronts A LOT with people. Like fifty percent of the time she just wants to be 'meh' and fuck off, but acts nicer because playing nice is Good For Kunzite And Her. But she can do this with people she does like, if a little less frequently. But it's like always ONE HUNDRED PERCENT LEGIT with Berry. Sometimes she deliberately hides things from her, but she barely gets a chance to feel bad because it's just easy to forget about them around her. All her worries and paranoias just melt away and it helps that she never had to REALLY front in front of Berry because early on she felt bad about Ginzo and told her a thing and then she was BERRY about it.

And because Berry isn't Mayor Fronter of Frontersville like a certain someone, it's actually kind of easier to accept she might really forgive her? Especially when combined with her Aoko memories. YOU ARE WEIRD GIRL WHO IS ODDLY NICE.

So Berry is in the unique position (currently) that Kira feels like she can just be genuine in front of her because she already knows she was kind of psycho. Shark was kind of in this, but then Kira realized HE was fronting and that complicated things, though some Kunzites might get into this spot now, but right now, it's just Berry!

But really love Berry and ships her and Kaito so hard and gosh, so easy to just be normal girl around you without feeling like a fake.

. . . No, really; that is pretty legit. Berry's had a lot of affection for Nightingale ever since she met her! She just seemed . . . cute, and eager, and kind of vulnerable and shy too and it was like. O-Oh no, you're precious. As time's gone by, Berry's started to get quite a bit more worried! Because Nightingale is clearly keeping things to herself. 8(a She hopes the girl has somebody she does feel like she can rely on and talk to. DON'T BOTTLE THINGS UP KIDDO IT'S NOT GOOD FOR YOU, LEAN ON YOUR FRIENDS AND YOUR TEAM I PROMISE THEY WILL LOVE YOUUUUU.

She really likes and looks up to him. '^'a LIKE . . . She's always had a distant liking for him, when she was still on Citrine and he was just an acquaintance, but having him around during That One Trauma Game was like . . . Oh . . .

Tickle match during Srs Business . . . oh . . .

Because Berry is terrified of arguments during trauma games. :B Being able to joke around a bit was a completely foreign experience for her, and it did a lot to help her cope!

And in general, she just likes hanging out with him, and wants to get to know him better! He kind of reminds her (a lot) of Kaito, which is automatic ++ points. It just also makes her wonder about the parts of him that he hides, and the parts that she doesn't understand. LIKE HOW BLASÉ HE CAN BE ABOUT TAKING DAMAGE IN GAMES. :'| She's too Every Day Joe to really . . . understand how people can be so Shounen Endurance, though she's steadily gaining more and more respect for him.

This does not mean that she won't sit on and ruthlessly bully him.

Nightingale > Berry

Man okay so. The thing with Nightingale is that while it is generally easier for her to be friends with/open with guys (since the strongest presence in her memories -- what she's taken, at least -- is her unknown twin brother servant, Allen), she really really really wants to be friends with girls. She wants to be friends with girls and talk to girls and in general she is a very very young fourteen who wants to cuddle and do very typically feminine hanging-out things! She just ... also doesn't know what they are (just that they must exist) and ... really how to talk to people in. general. It's easier with a lot of her male CR because a lot of them take a familiar protector/older-brother attitude that she knows how to deal with! But with girls it's like I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO D: BUT I WANT IT D: BUT HOW DO IT DDDD:?????

So this informs a lot of how she acts with Berry, because she was pretty much DETERMINED FROM THE START!! that she wanted to be Berry's friend, long before she came back to Aather. Part of it was the self-preservation of "this is Kit's lady and if I don't get along with her and if she doesn't like me what if he stops liking me :(" but then Berry showed up and was nice and tolerant and acted a lot more like a big sister that now Nightingale is just like "but I want her to like me for me what if she stops liking me what if things are ruined forever" please like me Berry please be my friend. 8((((((((

Deep deep deep deeeeeeeeeep in her heart, she sort of thinks of Kit and Berry as her Aather parents. \'-'/ This means she'll try harder to not tell them bad things because WHAT IF I DISAPPOINT THEM 8( but she is also horrendously bad at it so we'll see what happens.

Red > Berry

I said before that Red is really super inclined to like toppy no-nonsense girls. All of the girls on Sapphire so far have reminded him of Lenalee at times, and that's always a favorable thing! Really, the best way to get him to like you is to punch him in the feelings, and he got a lot of that when she came back from the Book and also during that one trauma game -- he could tell she was scared and unsure, so he immediately wanted to help her feel better! THE BEST WAY TO DO THAT IS TO BE SILLY :U!

Like Nightingale, though, there is the added fact that Kaito is prrobably one of a handful of people in Aather that he would honestly give a bit more detail about his own backstory to -- iirc he was the second person that Red gave permission to use the name "Allen," and they bonded over the sadness of dead dads. So in some ways Red feels responsible for Berry on a level beyond "this is my team/the people that I have the best chance of taking care of" because "this is someone very important to a friend of mine and I have to try extra hard for that." So while he wouldn't necessarily think of it on those terms, that level IS there, and it is a factor in how Red wants to look out for her.

I guess like. He has reached a point where he is pretty open about how terrible his life was -- he had no problems explaining to her about the Earl and the war -- he is still at a point where he will censor the fine details. (Mau is the only person on Sapphire who he's actually super open about details with; other than him it's like, Lloyd and Lenalee.) He would tell her that he did something terrible to his father, but he would not tell her I TURNED HIM INTO AN AKUMA AND THEN HE GAVE ME THIS SCAR ON MY FACE :v

but in all honesty, the more she affectionately bullies him probably the better he will like her '-' toppiness is always the key when you are a cute girl

COCO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH PARU AT ALL

Except maybe yell at her a lot when boobs come up.

She seems like a good person but. But why does perversion have to happen. STAY OUT OF MY LOVE LIFE STOP TALKING GO AWAY. She was pretty :I for a while after the incident in Iris, if only because it did . . . genuinely hurt her feelings to be talked about like that, and to not feel like she was being listened to. BUT she also does understand that Paru and Kit were hella drunk, so she's let it go.

SO in summary it's like neutral, leaning towards positive, but with a lot of >I mixed in at the same time.

Coco and Cleo
NEED TO THREAD MORE I feel like it's been a while. There haven't been any real changes here, for the most part . . . Coco feels like she did understand Cleo's feelings over the Iris event, but at that time she didn't feel like she could agree with them. Mostly, she just hopes that Cleo can find outlets that won't be destructive to herself and her team.

SO TO START I should just confirm that yeah, Paru was in fact lying through her teeth about not remembering what she said while drunk.

Overall, though, she likes Coco, but in a weird way? Like, she thinks she's funny and genuinely liked her, but also found it comforting that Coco reacted the way, because much of the time, her boob talk is in fact an attempt to get a rise out of people to keep them at arm's length. (Much of the time. Not always. Her motivations are a confused, inconsistent mess, just like the rest of her, whoops.) But she does have Coco pegged for tsundere already, and... well, she's dealt with a lot of those. So she's sort of unsure if Coco's reaction is 'actually a problem' or 'tsundere defaults to yelling at people', so she'll probably back off on the perversion if Coco makes it clear that it's the former.

tl;dr positive, made more positive by the fact that she feels like she can in fact keep Coco at a distance if she needs to via being a jerk


Cleo -> Coco

Nice person who she needs to talk to more :|a it has been too long! No real changes here. We need to do the plot-gathering post with them and Tavros sometime soon.

Coco just really, really adores Caramel. ;w; He's a cute kid, and she thinks that he's really reliable, and also very . . . mm. Human, in a lot of ways? In the way that he doesn't want to get hurt. She still feels badly about what happened in Systems' and Wood's card game. COCO IS SORRY THAT YOU TOOK HER PLACE AND GOT SHANKED IN THE EAR, CARAMEL. ._. She only let him do it because both he and Candy were being super stubborn, and because she knows Caramel has big issues with feeling like he's useless to the team.

But yes she adores him and wants him to always feel like he's a valued member of their team.

Isa likes Kengo! She doesn't have a super strong impression, but he seems like a decent, sweet guy. She's liked talking to him ever since they first met, and the whole thing with Y'gin didn't really . . . bother her too much, because he seemed apologetic and concerned when she told him about it! Also because she scolded it. \'-'/ She'd happily chat to him at any time, and help him out with things if he needs it. LIKE WITH THE LIZAGON NESTS—she thought that was really, really cute, and it boosted her opinion of him.

RELATIONSHIP UPDATE IS JUST . . .

She is still really happy and glad to be on Sapphire. ;w; Sapphire and Coral are like, the only two teams she's really comfortable with and close to, and ending up there was like. Great for her. It's also been a good opportunity to hang around with Apple more often!! Because no matter what she still does love hanging out with her, even though she is currently drowning in like 5000 feelings.

Once she has her Srs Bsns quests done she is going On A Mission to do something to make Apple happy!! She wants to see Apple's genuine smiles, and would really like to see her have a chance to relax, if only a little and if only for a while.
